This page explains how to delete your WeHale account and the data in it. The app is WeHale, from Andningsappen Varberg AB (organisation number 559496-1491), for iPhone and Android.
Delete it in the app
- Open WeHale and sign in.
- Tap More (bottom right).
- Tap Profile & Settings.
- Scroll to Danger zone and tap Delete account.
- If you have a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play, the app tells you it keeps renewing and links to where you cancel it. Cancel it there first.
- Confirm twice. Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out.
No access to the app? Ask us by email
Write to support@wehale.io from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account". We may ask one question to check it is you. We delete the account and tell you when it is done, within one month at the latest.
You can also ask us to delete only some of your data, for example your check-ins or feedback, without deleting the account. Write to the same address.
What is deleted
When your account is deleted we erase, from our live systems, in one step:
- your account: email, name, sign-in details, avatar
- your practice: sessions, ratings, likes, weekly goals, reminders, progress and milestones
- your answers when you started the app, and your check-ins
- your support messages, feedback, scores and any welcome period
- your push notification tokens and your subscription record in our database
- your feedback screenshots, removed from our file storage
- your contact at our email service (Loops)
- your name, email and ID from the usage events we keep (the events stay, with nothing that points to you)
If you signed in with Apple, you can also remove the connection yourself: Settings → your name → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple → WeHale.
What we keep, and for how long
- A deletion record: a one-way hash of your email address (it cannot be turned back into the address), your sign-in method, the date and counts of what was removed, to show that we honoured your request. We keep it for as long as we need to be able to show that, and review it from time to time.
- Purchase records at the stores and at RevenueCat (our subscription service), as financial records, for as long as accounting law requires. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription: Apple or Google keep billing until you cancel in their settings.
- Lifetime access, if you have it from before: your email address and the fact of that access, so it is not lost.
- Usage events with your name, email and ID removed. They no longer point to a person.
- Backups of our database, until they expire in our provider's normal backup cycle.
- Service providers' own copies (for example crash reports and measurement data). We do not currently send them a deletion request. You can ask us to contact a provider for you.
More detail is in our privacy policy. Questions: support@wehale.io.
